State Sales Tax Notice

Origin Meals recently underwent an audit with the State of Minnesota and the state determined that Origin Meals products were a taxable good and assessed that tax obligation. In the State of Minnesota, these taxes are considered obligations of the purchaser. 

If you received notice of a tax amount due with a unique number, this correspondence was sent by Origin Meals at the direction of the state.

Minnesota Statute § 297A.77 Subdivision 4 states:  

Sales and use taxes that are required to be collected by a retailer are considered debts from the purchaser to the retailer and are recoverable at law in the same manner as other debts.

We understand this may come as a surprise, and we are committed to working with you to resolve this matter in a fair and transparent manner.
